A Cocktail Bar for the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District

Collage #1.jpg

For cost, environmental, and aesthetic reasons, we have gone garnish-less, in favor of house-made aromatic tinctures.

If you must have olives with your Martini, we offer an entire bowl of them on our food menu. Though we knew that there would be riots if we did not offer a blue cheese olive with our Blue Cheese Olive Martini, so we are not completely unreasonable.

ABOUT

Opened by Joel Tompkins and Toby Cecchini of The Long Island Bar in 2018, The Rockwell Place was passed to former Long Island Bar employee, Alexander Kveton, in 2025.

The Rockwell Place is in an old industrial garage space that over the years has been just about every type of club and bar imaginable. Now, it is a scrappy cocktail joint making approachable yet carefully considered cocktails, even if the intention is to make ourselves chuckle. The food, by Long Island Bar chef Kevin Walker Garrett, matches the drinks with bar food that is seemingly straightforward yet nuanced. A neighborhood spot, a haven for cocktail nerds, inquisitives, and at times a high volume pre/post-show bar — The Rockwell Place always strives to be the spot for cocktails in Fort Greene.
